It's two days after Halloween and I've already seen Christmas stuff go up because Thanksgiving is clearly a fly-over holiday for some people (*cough* my neighbors who already put up their lights *cough*). I've already copped to being a wee bit obsessed with asian food lately. Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, Chinese - I'm all over the board. And try as I might, this late-night spot on SMU boulevard keeps me (and my wallet) coming back for more. There's something magical about macarons. They're little colorful pockets of flavor that are gone in two seconds, are a butt to make, but fun to attempt to make anyway so you have those memories to look back on. In my case, I'm perfectly cool with going to JOY Macarons on Lower Greenville (or their Oak Cliff location) and have someone else make them for me so I don't have to clean up the mess or pull my hair out (major props to pro mac makers, you have overcome the struggle).
